I had the opportunity to be in Madison representing the Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin legislative committee for the signing of SB 531, alongside Ken Werner Jr, Natalie White, Pete Hanson, and Representative Calvin Callahan
We also had the chance to recognize Rep. Callahan for receiving the Legislative Excellence Award—well-deserved for the work he’s done in pushing this bill forward and advocating for both our industry and Wisconsin homeowners.
SB 531 is a big win. It puts common-sense guardrails around assignment of benefits agreements—helping prevent inflated claims, confusion during the claims process, and ultimately keeping insurance more stable and affordable across the state.
